It is compatible with  storage services like Dropbox, Box, Sky-Drive, Google-Drive, Sugar-Sync, Picasa, CX.com, Amazon S3, etc. The free account offered by Otixo limits bandwidth to 300 MB per month for file transfer between different cloud storage services . 

4. Eye OS

Eye-OS is a web OS with office environment type cloud computing, based on a Web interface. It allows the user to access his office files and applications from any browser on any computer, needing only a basic system for a browser to run and an Internet connection. Note that the service was available to all users at its beginning, unfortunately it is now much more focused towards companies.

5. i Spaces

i Spaces is a Java solution. It is slower than its competitors. It still offers the possibility to organize multiple virtual desktops which cab be used to: manage your files online (Dropbox or Box), take notes, organize your contacts from Google and Facebook, work with local and online files via Zoho Office etc

Similar Sites is a search engine that allows you to find websites similar to your request. For each website address submitted by the user, a list of related websites are presented. Minus is my protege! Discovered in November 2010 , Minus really is something that can please you. Minimalist, fast and easy to use, these three characteristics that allow it to win against its competitors. Pity that the storage is limited to 50 MB, without this limitation, Minus becomes a pure gem.

GoPileus caught my attention because of its ease of use, thanks to its drag and drop interface. It is free and no registration is required to use GoPileus and offers 50 MB storage and 30 minutes lifetime for files.

3. Fyels

Fyels landed in this battle of file sharing with an argument of size: 9 GB of storage! The site also offers drag-and-drop facility and a shortened URL that you can use use to share with your friends.

4. Dropdo

Dropdo is different from all the other file sharing websites , it acts as a online to do list .

5. Boxify

Latest discovery, the service allows you to share files without registration. You can download as many files as you want and Boxify will  provide you a URL that you can customize and share with your friends.

The things that you can do to save the battery are:

• Turn off animation effects.

          By turning off the animation effects you are reducing the power required by the device and thus 

          saving the battery.

• Stop the device from automatically downloading updates. 

         Apple devices downloads updates required by the device automatically. So a service runs in the                    background for this purpose always , whether the update is available or not. You can always                       download the updates manually and thus stop the service which drains the battery for nothing.

• Reduce the brightness of the screen.

          This is a very silly but very important thing not to avoid. The display or the screen consumes more

          power when you increase the brightness of the screen sometimes 50% of the total power is consumed

         by the display. So reduce the display brightness and save the battery life. 

         

• Disable Location Services.

         You can turn off  the location service which is not always required just like the auto updates.

• Disable Spotlight.

         Disable Spotlight feature or service which is also not a necessity.

          Use a stationary or static wallpaper instead of live wallpapers.

Replace iGoogle with Backstit.ch - iGoogle closes it services on November.

iGoogle closes its doors on November 1, 2013.

For those who do not know it yet, iGoogle closes its doors on November 1, 2013. The free service launched by Google in May 2005 allowed to create a customisable Web portal to aggregate into a single page of continuous information flow. 

Backstit.ch is not new, but the site just had a fantastic update. Backstit.ch is a  good alternative to iGoogle. Although it can not be considered as  a alternative to iGoogle, it contains some of the great features offered by iGoogle.

RSS feeds, games, personalized services (Calendar, Weather, Gmail ...) and various modules of widget types allowed iGoogle to win against its opponents. Unfortunately  iGoogle stops its services , may be Google is looking forward to start a new service! So its time for us to move forward to other similar services

like Backstit.
